My Huawei battery stopped charging (with red blinking charge indicator)
Important notice! This is just my experience with this problem and can't be taken as good solution. If you try what I did it's on your own risk. I don't take any responsibility.
Few days ago my Huawei Honor developed a problem with battery (stock). It was empty and It didn't start to charge. LED indicator was blinking/flashing red color when I connected it to charger and nothing else happened. Phone didn't even boot when battery was inserted. When I removed battery it booted and worked fine. When charging below 10% it should be just red- without blinking. Blinking supposed to mean that there is no charging activity at all (according to some people).
Night before I noticed that power level was all over the place (while connected to charger). It changed often up and down between 5% - 40%. I didn't think much of it at first but when I woke up next morning, phone was totally dead.
After googling a bit I found some huawei threads with same symptoms. For instance.
Solution came from last link. Even Though I have a different phone than talked about in thread I gave it a try.
My solution
These were steps I took to by-pass this battery rpoblem.
- Remove battery from phone
- Plugin the charger
- Power up your phone
- After intial boot screen insert the battery (3-5 seconds worked for me)
- After boot it should show up red indicator (not blinking)
- Phone should be now charging again
Aftermath
Currently I'am not sure yet about my batterys lifetime. After initial charging it has dropped few times below 20% out of blue. It charged very badly. Sometimes got stuck at some random level like 30% or 44%. Now I have seen it on 100% first time.
Suddenly this morning my Honor would not turn on or charge or anything and when I put the charger in, it just blinked red.
I have just tried your solution and it seems to work. Thanks a lot!
This morning the charging light started flashing red. I have done the procedure advised in this site & it seems to have fixed the issue a little & my phone is finally charging for the first time in 3 days.
Its still definately time to get a new phone, but thank you soooooo much for posting this as it has helped me out a great deal in the mean time
Because am using a G525 and its extremly hot whilst charging and when it gets full battery life it dies instantly and same problem presist's
Maybe this solution above works, but to take battery out is a more time taking than my solution.. Just hard reset your phone- there is some strange soft/block issue with this charging stuff.. :)
Anyway- great post!
Do u have any idea what happened to it...
Plz reply..
same problem for mine, kindly help me out of this.

Maybe sometime it was getting connection but eventually broke?
leave the charger cable connected for that.
i bought new battery..it is not charging bro...but show red light. but not charging.. how to fix this problem...
firstball change batery
second (if another batery no fix) is motherboard (circuit from charge) someone resistor/capacitor damage that willbe fixed with pacience and the parts
ALL phones have batery removible, just that someones came under the case, unmount the case and will see the batery conected in there...
... for whos have the problem from 0 charge....can try charging the.batery with a charger universal or direct (+/-) a few seconds for gain the voltage requiered to the batery start to charger with normality and put in on the phone
I need help with this issue
My Huawei Ascend G630 phone can not power on. Onli the led blinking in order red, green, blue.
I need some help and any idea pls
Firstly, thank you so much for this article. It did help. I would like to add few more aspects so that it might help those with similar Honor 4x battery issue.
Problem I've Encountered:
When I woke up in the morning I found my phone was off. I've kept it for charging. Usually, after charging for some time, when I press and hold power button, it boots. But this time, there is no sign on any charging activity. When I was pressing power button, it is showing Battery Sign and Charging Symbol in Red Color. I was not sure what does that mean. I tried charging for some more time, but It wasn't of much use.
I then found this article. I must say the solution indeed worked.
Few points for Honor users:
1. Batter is inbuilt unlinke other phones. Therefore you need to unscrew the frame covering the batter.
2. I didn't had the screwdriver that is suitable for these small screws, so I used a small knife to open them
3. I couldn't open one screw, therefore, I somehow had managed to open the frame enough to see the batter.
4. Battery is connected to motherboard with a small cable, you need to lift it up to unplug.
5. AFter unplugging batter, you then power up the phone by connecting the charger to the phone.
6. It wont completely boot, but it shows the initial boot screen which repeats it self. Wait for some time, then unplug the charger.
7. Now, reconnect the battery cable to the board.
8. Close the frame and again connect the charger to the phone and switch on the power
9. You will find a battery symbol and a charging symbol in red color that is displayed on the screen
10. Charging indicator on the top left (small red or yellow or green light) now will start blinking
11. That implies, the drained batter is slowly getting charged
12. Dont rush, and let it charge. After some time you will notice the red blinking indicator on the top left corner turning to ligh yellow. Implies now you can start your phone if it is an emergency, or just let it charge 100%
Now I will have to figure out how to fix back the screws with the little knife I have. :)
Don't panic, you don't have to rush to the servicing centre.
I have a Huawei Ascend G7 which I bought brand new about two months ago. It ran out of battery yesterday and I have charged it over night but it doesn't appear to be charging. I have tried several chargers with no success - and taken it to a phone repair shop who says the port looks fine (I have heard the charging ports break quite easily on these models).
I think it might be a software issue because when first plugged in it looks like it is charging and has the battery on the screen with a red line showing low battery charge. Then it switches to an image of a battery looking like it is charging (with a green bar going up the battery). But seconds later it flashes up with the image that means 'plug in your charger' (a grey battery with the charger lead next to it) and stays like that even if charged for hours.
Can anyone help with this? My wife is due to give birth in the next couple of days and I really need a working phone - Huawei are being no help at all!
Thanks in advance
Same thing happened with my boyfriends Honor 6. We kept it turned off 2 days and just plugged it to the charger and now it's charging just fine!
Hope this works out for somebody else also :)
before few days in my huawei mobile red light blink continuously, I switched off my mobile but the red light not off, its on continuously, what can I do?
I reset the factory data but can't off this red light.

replacement new battery.

I left it in rice for 48 hours to let all the bubbles out of the camera lenses (not sure what happened to the phone). Currently it just flashes red and I can't get it to boot :(
Remove the battery connector
Connect another fully charged battery in paralell (check with multimeter there is spot nearby battery connector .)
put the battery connector back to its place.
turn on phone now, its should start charging now.
wait 10-20 min then it will start functioning normal.
I just left it on charge for about 30 minutes and once it had got charge in it it turned on.
It seems when the battery drops to zero (normally it will turn off at 3%) it takes a fair bit f time to get some charge into it but when it does it turns on as per what a phone is supposed to do.

Had same issue with replacement battery
After replacement battery isn't charging. Problem is in bad connections
Your solution worked but i still had issues with charging
(probably from long shelf storage connectors got rusty)
Voltage was fine but temperature reading was way off (very low -2) and phone didn't charge battery
Problem is that there was no error message about battery temp.
After cleaning the contactors battery reading became normal and it started charging

solution 1
press and hold volume up/down then connect the cable charger and wait until uou fill the a soft vibrate the release then let it until the display screen is off and the indicator light steady on red (not blinking)
solution 2
patient, don't panic,it just over drained the battery, so connect the charger cable and long press the power to super over drain the battery until it vibrate twice and let it until it turn off the display for 60sec.
then when the display is off just charge it until it's full then buy a new charger coz it cause by charging while playing with the ratio of 2 over 1, battery consumption of the game/app you play take more power than the charger supply your phone, so buy a new charger and dont play while you charge.
